Katie's musical performance is a blend of her angelic voice with the small folk harp (clarsach) showcasing songs not only from her own Celtic homeland but also from many other different cultures and musical genres.
A Princes' Trust Ambassador, Katie performed in Scotland at the Opening of Scottish Parliament in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen, for JK Rowling at the launch of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince at Edinburgh Castle and aboard the Royal Yacht Britannia. Now resident in Asia, Katie sang for the British Prime Minister and the British Gold Medallists at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and for The First Minister of Scotland in Beijing and Shanghai in April 2009 on his official governmental tour.
In 2009 Katie wrote and recorded a charity song called Day by Day, 《新的未来》 in English and Mandarin to raise money and awareness for the Sichuan earthquake survivors one year on. Sponsored by Heng An Standard Life, Day by Day was launched at the British Ambassador's Residence in Beijing and then later performed by Katie for schoolchildren at the epicentre of the earthquake in Sichuan where Katie donated over 200 musical instruments and books to the children with the monies raised. The song has gone on to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake in 2010 and continues to be an emblem of positive hope as people gradually rebuild their lives and rediscover happiness.
